The Valadares family has always had a soft spot for animals. Long before Valfran became a name Goa's pet parents know, the family was deep in the poultry business, and that's where it all began.

As the poultry business grew, so did the need for good feed and reliable medicines. Valfran stepped in and soon became the only veterinary outlet in the state, trusted by government animal husbandry, milk unions, and poultry farms across Goa.

Then came bird flu, and the companies Valfran worked with began moving toward pet medicines instead. Valfran moved with them, and found a new community to serve. What followed wasn't really a plan, it just made sense to keep showing up for whoever needed help. Over time, that's exactly what happened: pet owners across Margao found their way to Valfran, the same way the poultry farms once had.

Decades later, the landscape looks different, with more clinics, more manufacturers, more choice than anyone back then could have imagined. But the family that started it all is still here, still doing what it's always done.
